Irish Brides Magazine Editorial – Photographer falls into bushes!

The new edition of Irish Brides magazine is out now. There is a nice editorial on one of my recent weddings.They even managed to mention little ol’ me as I fell into the bushes. Not a regular occurrence I must tell you!

I get quite alot of US based couples (Irish & American) booking me for their weddings in Ireland. And they always book me over the phone without meeting me. Thank God for websites, blogs and skype. It makes the whole process alot easier and less worrisome for clients.

This was the wedding of Colleen & Geremiah whose wedding took place at the beautiful Limerick wedding venue of Adare Manor last October. Adare Manor has grand rooms but this was a small wedding, and yet the cosiness was somehow maintained.

If you’re booking your wedding from abroad then a good wedding co-ordinator is a must. Much better than giving a list of things to do to family members. For this wedding Colleen and Geremiah used Michelle Johnstone Clarke, an amazing wedding co-ordinator who owns waterlilyweddings.

This is Iseult Janssens. I was asked to photograph Iseult for a magazine article.

Iseult is an award-winning, French-trained pastry chef. She also owns and runs the Cakestand.

….And her cakes are works of art (check out the cake beside her) and seriously scrummy…check her out!

Laragh & Robbie – Equestrian Lifestyle Shoot Pt 1

Had the pleasure of photographing sisters Laragh (with pony Robbie) and Megan ( with horse Max). They had two beautiful dogs, Bonny and Flopsy.

I simply can’t do the shoot justice in one blog posting so splitting the shoot up into parts one and two. Part one is just about Laragh and her pony Robbie and Bonny the dog. Robbie is a beautiful, gentle little pony with a little pot belly.

I also had a great shoot with Megan and her gorgeous horse, Max. I will post images from that part of the shoot on Tuesday

On these equestrian lifestyle shoots it is very easy appreciate the connection between pony/horse and owner. It is that connection that I try to capture.

Confetti Bridal Magazine Wedding Editorial

The summer edition of Confetti bridal magazine out since April contains images and a story from Aoife & Derek’s wedding which I shot last September.

Wedding took place at the Lyons Village. It’s a great venue. Hope I am back there soon. Some images below:

Koren & Jacob – NYC Prewed

I know I sound like the t-shirt but I really do love Manhattan. I have been there about 7 times but this was the second photo shoot I have done in NYC.

Last time it lashed rained but this time it was an altogether different story. Think 23 degrees and beautiful blue blue skies, but completely freakish weather as this was the 18th March. Just think two weeks previously people were skiing across Central Park

I had the pleasure of shooting the pre-wed of Koren and Jacob, who both live in Manhattan, but who are getting married at the Powerscourt Estate next month.

We kicked off the shoot in Central Park. It was jammed with people. Hard sunshine and very little in the way of shade as there were no leaves on the trees, but I love the the saturated colours you get from a day like this.

I love the image of Koren and Jacob with the San Remo Apartments in the background, this is one of my favourite buildings, and the image with the guitar player. He was giving it socks…..

The Bridal Lounge

The Bridal Lounge is owned and run by Aoife Callaghan and Deirdre Hynes who are now providing a stylish new service for couples looking for wedding inspiration and ideas to help them save both time and money in planning their big day.

I really like the use of inspiration boards as a creative tool to bring together the couple’s ideas, and perhaps get them thinking outside the box.

These guys are great. I have worked with Aoife on fashion shoots and weddings, and her attention to detail is impeccable. I also photographed her wedding. In fact you can see the wedding in the current edition of Confetti.
